I'm 59 year old male copd and this is my first comment. I don't know what they're doing that's effective. Most meds and nebulizer clear out a bout of bad congestion but at night I still have to get out of a warm bed to hit the nebulizer because I'm either congested or dried up. What helps is dusting the tops of cabinets, shampoo carpet once weekly and keep bathrooms clean of mold. Yes it's surprising what a little cleaning can do.

I've got moderate gold stage II. It's a good idea to have the copd diagnosed with a pulmonary function test then documented clearly by your doctor for your reference.

Hi, I am new to the site and also have COPD. I see there is quite of information on the web about COPD. I also see the info on how serious and its the third leading way to die in the US today. I do not see how our country is seeking more was to treat and cure this disease that affects 24 million Americans. Overseas and in Mexico there are stem cell treatments going on which seem to offer hope and a possible new treatment. Is it bad for the US to pursue this avenue for COPD treatment? If our government does not want to get involved in stem cell, at least guide American people with COPD to reputable clinics for hope. I just feel that this will be the way to treat COPD and other diseases in the future. The FDA is approving pills to lose wait and not approving clinical trials for stem cell research. We should be telling our government to move ahead in curing diseases not just leave us sucking an oxygen tube and talking how we feel.
