I'm Free! of the burden

Posted in Group:

I was an athlete from elementary school through college. I pushed myself through all of the sprints and excersizes telling myself that I wasn't in good enough shape. All of my teammates were breathing fine, I was out of breath constantly while running and playing. In 1989 I gave birth to my first child. Not long after her birth I was diagnosed with asthma. At last I finally knew the reason behind my thoughts of being out of shape. In 2005 my doctor diagnosed me with COPD and placed me on nighttime oxygen and on a CPAP machine. A few months later I graduated to 24 hour oxygen, oh what fun. :(
This past July 2011 I went to a new pulmonologist and he did a quick hallway test and said I no longer had COPD, only asthma, and took me off of the day time medication. I moved to Mass about 5 months ago and my new doctor ordered a full 90 minute lung function test. I got the results last week. The asthma is gone! The doctor ordered a chest CT just to make sure and that was scheduled for March 5 but I had some problems come up this past Saturday and ended up in the ER. The ER physician decided to go ahead and perform the chest CT to relieve my fears and that was clear also!

I'm just letting all of you know that it IS possible to be healed from COPD. If I was, I know there's a chance you can be too. I'm praying for all of you.
